Wedding Flower School V.4 - Know Your Foliage
Greens can really change the aesthetic of your wedding flowers and today we want to share some of our favorite types of foliage and show you how pairing them with the same flowers yields REALLY different results.
Eucalyptus - a fan favorite and very popular on the internet these days. There are many kind of eucalyptus (some very fragrant, some not so much) and we love the boho look these blooms give to an arrangement.
Fern - This is a favorite around Hoot & Holler. It comes in many varieties and we actually love them all! These leaves have a distinct shape and are a great way to add visual interest to an arrangement without giving it too much extra weight. Special shoutout to maidenhair fern and sword fern for fighting the good fight and being extraordinarily beautiful
Huckleberry - this green is a workhorse. It comes in the perfect shade of true green, holds up beautifully out of water, has a strong stem, and is very cost effective. This beauty really shows well in garlands, adorning arches, and as a base for bouquets and centerpieces.
Bay Leaves - Not just for your grandma's soup. This foliage has an amazing scent but it also looks gorgeous everywhere from bouquets to centerpieces. We love pairing bay leaves with softer blooms (think roses and ranunculus) to balance out the sharp lines and distinct shape of the leaves.
