Last week we were invited to join three other local(ish) florists in creating a romantic tablescape for a contest at Mayesh Wholesale. We were free reign in the cooler full of thousands of blooms to make our masterpiece and oh. my. god. did it come together beautifully. With some last minute help from some of our AMAZING vendor friends we pulled together a jaw-dropping piece that we're already dying to re-create (Brides! Who wants a chuppah!?) Also, an extra THANK YOU goes out to the wonderful Riane Roberts for grabbing these photos for us!!
We really wanted to incorporate elements that spoke to Arizona's natural landscape so we built the framework using manzanita branches and cholla skeletons. From there, we wove in lush foliage and topped it off with a BRIGHT color palette of garden roses, peonies, stock, orchids, daisies, and a many standard roses (For those who aren't so sure about roses, please let this change your minds. The right roses can be SO WONDERFUL!).
On the table itself, we built some wild centerpieces housed in rental vases from our inventory, added candles for some romantic light, and the perfect vintage dishes, goblets, and flatware from Fancy Lou Designs (Can't give these ladies enough love. They have the most incredible inventory).
After all of the votes were counted, we placed second among all of the other participating Mayesh branches around the country. With our win we were given $2000 to donate to the Arizona Humane Society.
